Lanzarote
The Canarian island of Lanzarote is one of the places in the world with the greatest diversity of whales and dolphins (at least 30 species of cetaceans are spotted here). Add in year-round good weather, easy access to beaches and water sports, and Lanzarote is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and ocean enthusiasts.
The hinterland of Lanzarote can sometimes remind you of the surface of Mars – volcanic landscapes including the impressive Timanfaya National Park. Contrast that with the eastern coastline of the island (where our operations are based) – beautiful beaches, deep biodiverse waters and, very often, a cooling breeze while you’re out at sea.
Lanzarote is a perfect holiday destination, with year-round sunny weather and a wide range of leisure activities including water sports such scuba diving, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and snorkelling. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to browse, and spots along the shoreline to kick back and enjoy the sunshine.

Our whale and dolphin observation experiences and conservation programme are located in Puerto Calero, a quiet marina that is surrounded by select restaurants and shops. It’s very conveniently located just a few kilometres from the resort town of Puerto del Carmen and the nearby airport.
Our boat in Lanzarote
‘La Santa Maria’ is our catamaran, powered by a 100% electric and noise-free engine and also wind power, when our sails are opened up to catch the coastal breeze.
Importantly, the boat is also emission free, as no environmental pollutants are created (in the way that diesel engines often generate). The catamaran is equipped with a hydrophone and a 360-degree camera to provide the best possible experience during whale and dolphin observations.
‘La Santa Maria’ has plenty of space due to its size and is the first of its kind for whale and dolphin watching in the EU.
Whale and dolphin observation experiences
Join us on the first completely noise and emission free whale and dolphin watching catamaran in Europe! You’ll be part of a small group, learning about and experiencing whales and dolphins in a unique way with our expert team.
Our experiences in Lanzarote include both morning and sunset tours, and are available both as a shared group experience or as a private experience (where you can book the entire boat for a private journey with friends/family/workmates etc.)
Lanzarote Conservation Programme
Our Conservation Programme in Lanzarote has proven to be very popular since we launched it in 2023.
Highlights include getting to experience whales and dolphins in their natural habitat (the Canary Islands are one of the few places in the world where you can observe and study whales and dolphins the whole year around), being part of a unique movement to and mission to make whale observation trips noise and emission free, getting insights and learnings, and being part of our cetacean conservation and protection work. You’ll also get to immerse yourself in Spanish culture and the amazing island of Lanzarote.
