Sotogrande Dolphin Observation

(Private Experience)

Sotogrande

Step aboard a private morning trip and enjoy an unforgettable 2.5-hour experience, sailing and observing dolphins in the eastern part of the Strait of Gibraltar

The Strait of Gibraltar is one of Europe’s great biodiversity hotspots: a natural corridor where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea, and where marine life and migratory birds gather throughout the year. It is a privileged setting for cetacean watching in any season.

On our trips, you will commonly encounter common dolphins and bottlenose dolphins, and with a bit of luck, you may also spot fin whales during their migration. In addition, you’ll enjoy the sight of seabirds and migratory birds, and it’s not unusual to see sunfishflying fish, and even sea turtles.

Thanks to our low-noise navigation and the comfort of Bretema, a semi-hybrid vessel powered by electric engines, you will experience wildlife observation in a calm atmosphere that is respectful towards the animals.

As a small, low-profile rigid inflatable boat, Bretema keeps you close to the water, creating a more intimate and authentic experience. On board, we carry a hydrophone to listen live to cetacean sounds and an underwater camera to record what happens beneath the surface.

The private experience is designed for groups of up to 10 people, always accompanied by an experienced skipper and expert guide, who will tailor the trip to your pace and interests, explaining behaviour, species, migrations and key aspects of the ecosystem.

During the journey, you will also enjoy spectacular views of the Rock of Gibraltar and Jebel Musa, historically known as the Pillars of Hercules.

An exclusive way to discover the Strait, share the sea with your group, and enjoy an authentic, sustainable and personalised experience.
