We’re delighted to share that we’ve launched a new destination for responsible cetacean watching at WeWhale: Gran Canaria!

We’re now based at Pasito Blanco Harbour, just a short distance from the iconic natural area of Maspalomas, where our hybrid vessel, ‘Senda del Azul’, departs for its dolphin excursions. This spacious Rodman 1100 is perfect for groups of up to eight people. What makes ‘Senda del Azul’ truly unique is its hybrid propulsion system, powered by two electric engines. This allows us to navigate in a quiet and environmentally respectful way, offering a more mindful and sustainable wildlife-watching experience — both for those on board and for the marine life we encounter.

We offer trips both in the morning and at sunset, and you can choose between shared group tours or a fully private experience by booking the boat exclusively for yourself and your companions — whether with family, friends, or colleagues.

The southern waters of Gran Canaria are home to a wide variety of cetaceans, including bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins, common dolphins, Risso’s dolphins, striped dolphins, and short-finned pilot whales, among other species. Every excursion is an opportunity to observe, learn, and connect with nature through respect and wonder. At WeWhale, we believe conservation starts with education and first-hand knowledge. That’s why, on each trip, we share insights about the marine species we encounter, their behaviours, and the challenges they face. We also take an active role in ocean clean-up initiatives and work to protect marine life from threats such as ghost fishing nets and irresponsible boating practices.

In addition, 7.5% of WeWhale’s net income from our experiences is donated to the non-profit WeWhale Association, helping to fund a wide range of whale and dolphin protection projects.

We look forward to welcoming you on board to discover Gran Canaria from the sea, in a way that is quiet, conscious, and deeply committed.
